The tenth OpenPGP Email Summit took place in Dietzenbach from March 26 to 29, 2026, at the invitation of the Wau-Holland Foundation, where OpenPGP developers from across Europe gathered in person and online to share experiences and discuss the future of OpenPGP. Special thanks go to Patrick Brunschwieg for organizing the meeting and to Kai Engert for providing the audio infrastructure.
The discussions focused primarily on support for PQC (post-quantum cryptography) as well as proposed simplifications to the user interface for email clients (MUAs) — for example, regarding the handling of signatures, automatic key selection, and much more.
To conclude the summit, fresh ideas were immediately implemented and tested during Hacking Day.
Next year, the OpenPGP Email Summit will once again be sponsored by the Wau-Holland Foundation and will take place in Dietzenbach.
