Until January 5th 2025, the Digilab of Kunsthaus Zürich (Heimplatz 1, 8001) will be screening “Alles ist Eins. Ausser der 0” in a continous loop as part of their ‘Digital Pioneers’ exhibition.
The documentary film, which first premiered in July 2021, takes you on a tour through early hacker culture, digital rights activism, and the founding of the now world-famous Chaos Computer Club. From the archives to the home screen and now the big screen, follow Herwart Holland-Moritz aka Wau Holland and his compatriots as they lay the groundwork for technology as social change, political expression, and data protection in the burgeoning information society.
Co-directors Klaus Maeck and Tanja Schwerdorf speak with curator Cathérine Hug about the film and the exciting subculuture it highlights in a podcast episode here.
For those of you who cannot make it to Zürich, the film will also be available online through January 3rd via NDR Dokfilm in Germany.
